Outstanding research and climate-friendly travel - on October 10, 2023, the University of Graz presented the "Green Academia Award" for the very first time to those branches of science that combine sustainable mobility and excellent research performance particularly successfully. In recent years, this has been best achieved by the educational sciences, which have thus made an important contribution to achieving the University of Graz's climate targets.

10.10.2023: As part of the presentation of the Green Academia Award by the University of Graz, the Educational Science department achieved 1st place (50,000 euros) for the particularly successful combination of sustainable mobility and excellent research performance. Second place went to Economics, which was awarded 20,000 euros, and third place to Art Sciences, which was awarded 10,000 euros.
04.10.2023: The Master's thesis by Ms Antonia Pohlmann, MSc, Institute of Environmental Systems Science, was awarded as one of the best 7 Master's theses at the USW Master's award ceremony.

Ms Anneliese Pirs, Institute of Education and Educational Science, received the 3rd Prize for Achievement and Innovation 2023 for the project "Hybrid Beech Development".
20.06.2023: Award for the commitment to entry and promotion opportunities for scientists: The Educational Science branch achieved 1st place in 2021 and 2nd place in 2022 at the University of Graz.
