Applications for recognition

How do I apply for recognition?
To apply for recognition, you need to enter or submit your application in UNIGRAZonline. Please note, however, that the application for recognition generated in this way must then be sent by email to urbi.anerkennung(at)uni-graz.at.

Before submitting an application for recognition, please check whether it may be possible to assign the relevant credit to your degree program independently.
Instructions for assigning credits in the app "My studies (Curriculum Support)

When is an application for recognition required?

  • If you have completed courses at other educational institutions and/or as part of another degree program.
  • When changing to a new degree program (new study code).
  • When switching to a newer curriculum version, first reassign your credits in the"My studies (Curriculum Support)" app. If an assignment is not possible there, an application for recognition must be submitted for this achievement.

I have questions about recognition. Who can I contact?

The staff at the URBI Examination Office can answer your organizational questions.
If you have any questions regarding content, please contact the chairperson of the Curriculum Commission for your degree program.

How long does it take to complete?

The average processing time is 3 to 6 weeks. In rare cases, the processing time can also take the maximum permitted period of 2 months.

How do I receive my letter of recognition?

The legally valid letter of recognition will be sent to your Uni-Graz e-mail address by employees of the URBI Examination Office.

Please note!
It is NOT possible to change a notification at a later date. You can find further information on this in the instructions on legal remedies in your notification. Therefore, before submitting your application for recognition, consider very carefully whether you really want or need the recognition.

The dean's office is located at Merangasse 18 on the first floor
Opening hours: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri from 9 am to 12 pm and Wed from 2 pm to 4 pm (closed on Wednesdays during semester breaks)
