Doctoral school and doctoral programs
Are you aiming for an academic career at university or outside? Or do you simply want to deepen your specialist knowledge? Then one of the URBI Faculty's doctoral programs might be just right for you. We offer three different doctoral programs in a total of four doctoral schools:

- Doctoral School of Geography and Spatial Research
- Doctoral School of Sport and Exercise Sciences
- Doctoral School of Environmental Systems Science
- Humanities doctoral studies at the URBi Faculty
- Interdisciplinary doctoral studies at the URBi Faculty
- Doctoral program in the natural sciences at the URBi Faculty

Transitional provisions between curricula version 16W and 23W:
Students of the interdisciplinary and natural sciences doctoral programs who are subject to Curriculum 16W when Curriculum 23W comes into force (on 01.10.2023) are entitled to complete their studies within 8 semesters in accordance with the provisions of Curriculum 16W. If the studies are not completed by 30.09.2027, the students are subject to the version valid at that time.
Students following Curriculum 16W are entitled to voluntarily switch to the currently valid Curriculum 23W at any time during the admission period! If the new curriculum suits you better, you can have yourself transferred by the study department. Please note, however, that there is no way back to the outgoing curriculum once you have switched!
